Editing and Film process

 Film Process

To film , the technology we used were phones with the maximum quality to make the film look as good as it possibly can. Tilting, which is a type of camera movement, was used in our film to transition into a match cut. The handheld shot was another type of camera movement convention that is used in our genre(horror), to create tension. Handheld shot was the main shot we used , since it is one of the most used horror conventions and it best fit our film. Redoing shots was something we did constantly since we faced a plethora of chances , but we still finished in time.

Editing Process

Through filters, music, and transitions meaning was created through editing. A dark filter was used while editing to create a scary mood for our opening scene. Fade to black was a transition used in our film to create tension as well. The video was the editing app we used and we learned how to edit on it by using watching Youtube tutorials. These tutorials taught us the basics of editing: how to delete clips, add filters, add clips, and how to use transitions.
As we were editing we added specific sound effects to create a scary mood: a scream, door creak, and footsteps. We also found music that created tension on Youtube, which we gave credit to in our credits.

Our final opening scene

Even though we produced and edited three different opening scenes with the shots we created, as a group we chose to use my film as our final film.
